100 Shopkeepers in chandni chowk get notice

NEW DELHI: Chandni Chowk is a Very High Commercial Area Of Old Delhi. The Corporation Has issued over 100 notices to traders operating on internal road Roshanpura and Nearby Markets.Officially said around 500 notices had been issued in the six zones of the corporation.
These Areas mix land Streets and Local  Shopping areas, and smaller shops  (with a width less than 6m-6.5m)and smaller will also be covered during the drive.

 

Most of the shops have received notices for non-payment of conversion charges. Department asked the shopkeepers to submit a proof of payment or pay in next three days  while the traders for the main road have also been told to submit the property proof for showing the ownership is of the pre -1962 period

Sanjay Bhargava, a general secretary of Chandni Chowk Sarv Vyapar Mandal, said the main road had been commercial street since the period of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and the action was unjustified.”No doubt for the status of the main street.If proof or documents are asked, we will reply according to the situation.
